June 22, 2021— 鶹US Michigan College announced today that it will offer three of its existing degrees in an entirely online format effective with the Fall 2021 semester: an (AGS) degree, an degree, and an degree.

鶹US President David Roland Finley said online classes and programs are increasingly important to students, even post-pandemic, and particularly to adult learners who are completing their degree amid competing responsibilities.

“Many students benefit from the flexibility and mobility of online learning because it allows them to achieve a better work-life-school balance,” Finley said.

The AGS degree is one of the college’s most popular degrees because of its versatility and transferability, according to Vice President of Student Affairs Renee DeYoung.

“It’s a degree that is perfect for students who want to complete their first two years with us before transferring to complete a bachelor’s degree,” DeYoung said.  “Now they can earn their AGS degree from anywhere, while continuing to work and manage their personal commitments.”

The Associate of Arts in Psychology prepares students to pursue a bachelor’s degree in a psychology-related field, DeYoung noted, while the Associate of Applied Science in Business Management is tailored to students who intend to begin a business career immediately following graduation.

The college plans to add more online degree programs in future semesters.  Doing so is in line with the college’s mission to provide “exceptional, accessible, relevant” higher education, Finley said.

“With new fiber being placed in the ground daily, higher education is now a possibility for even more learners throughout Northern Michigan,” he said.  “We want to expand access to a 鶹US degree that will help students meet their career goals.”

鶹US Michigan College is an open-door community college based in Petoskey, with additional locations offering classes and services in Cheboygan and Gaylord.  鶹US’s mission is to provide exceptional, accessible, relevant higher education of and for the community.  鶹US is an with a designation of by the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency.
